Textile and Product Designer
A Little About Me…
I am a Textile and Product Design Specialist with over 20 years experience, working for many brands in the Australian Fashion and Homewares markets. Beginning my career with a Bachelor of Design from COFA, UNSW, I have gone on to work as a designer in the Australian Homewares and Beach Fashion categories.
My work has been broad and varied, including designing products for the home, outdoors, swimwear, beachwear, footwear, childrenswear, and activewear. I particularly enjoy collaborating, where all great ideas start, working together to formulate strategies towards designing commercial and successful products, incorporating my passion for high quality hand produced artwork, colour, textiles and surface print design.
I understand the design process from trend analysis, research and brainstorming an initial concept, through to dealing with suppliers and finalising bulk production. Over recent years I have built on my passion for hand drawn and painted elements in my designs, combined with the benefits of technology, creating unique, commercial and trend driven concepts to be implemented towards a successful end product design. Coupled with my thorough knowledge of fabrics and textiles, printing processes and constructions, I am able to identify opportunities, and develop cohesive, creative and commercial product ranges to fit within a broad range of client briefs and customer profiles.
I live and work in Brisbane with my husband and three children. I am available and look forward to collaborating with you in person or over Zoom or Teams to bring your idea to life.
I believe that to do great work, you must love what you do, and that I most certainly do, learning all the time and finding inspiration everyday all around me, with continuous fresh ideas ready to explore.
